Getting Started with Ledger
Ledger.com/Start is the official onboarding portal for all Ledger® devices. It guides you through the setup process, firmware installation, and the creation of your secure recovery phrase. Using Ledger Live, you can manage, buy, sell, and stake cryptocurrencies safely from your desktop or mobile device.
What You’ll Need
- Your Ledger Nano X or Nano S Plus device.
- The original USB cable (or Bluetooth for Nano X mobile setup).
- A computer or smartphone with an internet connection.

Step-by-Step Setup
- Visit ledger.com/start.
- Download and install the official Ledger Live App for your operating system.
- Connect your Ledger device via USB and open Ledger Live.
- Follow on-screen instructions to initialize your device and set a PIN code.
- Write down your 24-word recovery phrase on the provided recovery sheet and store it offline.
- Install apps for the cryptocurrencies you plan to manage.
- Access your crypto accounts securely using Ledger Live.
Important: Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Ledger will never ask for it — not even during updates or support chats.

Troubleshooting
- Device not detected: Try a different USB port or cable. Restart Ledger Live.
- Firmware update issues: Reconnect the device and retry. Ensure your internet is stable.
- Forgot PIN: You’ll need to reset the device and restore it using your recovery phrase.
- Ledger Live not installing: Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall and reinstall from the official site.
